Ritratti di case
Finnish style villas. Temporary prefabricated housing.
Small Finnish style villas- nicknamed in this way because of their similarities with nordic architecture- stand a short distance away from the massive buildings of Enel in Piazza Brasilia in Milan.
These modular, pre-fabbricated single-storey houses were built at the beginning of the 1950's, born as a solution to temporary emergency housing needs. Today, they highlight a catalogue of different individual interpretations of "standard" living spaces.
"Ritratti di Case" (Portraits of Houses) strives to be a "family album"; a collection of shots that alternate between pictures of residences and details, specifically chosen to highlight that which the user doesn't perceive straight away in an attempt to explore dimensions of personal and private space.
