Unexpected places
University spaces beyond stereotypes, discovering some of the most unknown places of the agrarian faculty of Milan.
With a slightly voyeuristic approach, the author let us in unfamiliar areas of a University campus. These places surprise us, but they actually are the heart of innovation. Through a neat architectural photography Pagani shows us places that are very different from one another, but that are related by the common feeling of surprise they rise in the observer. A different University emerges: it's not the University of students and classrooms, but of advanced research in a daily routine.
So we can follow Pagani into a farm in the Agricultural department where students, professors and researchers can experiment directly. Or we can visit the quiet kindergarden in the Milano Bicocca studios; or even enter the advanced "wind gallery" and "crash test" areas of the Design Department of the Milano Politecnico.
Pagani discloses all these places, usually inaccessible to the public. His shots can reveal the space as a universe full of details.
